The first 50 vinyls come with custom painted 12x12 canvas squares created by Charley Alexander. Preorders will ship the week of March 13.
Brett return with their sophomore album, Mode. Across its 10 tracks, the act’s songwriting magic is undeniable. Pop jams come to life in 3D, swirling the senses and putting the mind into motion.
The album’s art was created as a large-scale painting by LA artist, Charley Alexander, using abstracted patterns, shapes and color scales, and then cut into 50 squares, each of which will be sold with limited copies of the vinyl record.
Unlike previous material that primarily pulled from relationships, Mode’s inspirations are more diverse, owing more to multimedia art, namely Jean-Luc Godard’s recent film, Goodbye to Language, and the light installations of James Turrell.
Brett remain committed to writing material that’s refined and engaging, but also approachable. Although Mode is more mature than their previous work, the album embodies that viewpoint, reminding us that pop music is supposed to be fun too.
